MM: Just Along For the Ride

I hope everyone had a great weekend like I did. I got to spend some sweet time with my mom and sister. I am so blessed by my family. But today, as usual, I have to go back to the lab. I'm making slow progress on my thesis and still trying to figure out how to make my circuit work better. Prayers would be appreciated. To make my day brighter, and hopefully yours as well, here's a video that made me chuckle. Perhaps you've seen it already, but I still enjoyed it the second time around. (I'm not sure why this is the second week in a row I have animals in the video, but just go with it.)

Just Like Me

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. I’m now a quarter of a century old. Well, in reality the only thing that seems to have changed is that my health insurance is now higher. Yay! But really, looking back over the last year I know I’ve changed a lot, and I pray it’s mostly for the better. Thank you everyone who helped me celebrate my birthday. Especially my super wonderful husband who made and decorated this awesome cake for me.

Yes, those sprinkles do say "Love You Kacie" and it was created by a homemade stencil. My husband does love me dearly. Love. This brings me to my memory verse for this half of the month (which I’m only a few days late on).

“’This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.’” John 15:12 (NASB)

This time it’s not as much the words that I wanted to memorize (because I pretty much already knew the verse), but I want to know exactly where it is in scripture and how it’s connected to the next 5 verses. We often think, love one another, check, got it. But what comes after that last comma is pretty important. “Just as I have loved you.”

It’s not just that God loves us, which we are usually so vain we think we can actually grasp that, but it’s how God loved us.

God loved sacrificially as the Father (John 3:16) and the Son (Ephesians 5:2).
God loves steadfastly (Deuteronomy 7:9, Psalm 36:7)
God’s love is giving (Romans 5:5)
God loves by correcting (Proverbs 3:12)
God loves greatly (Ephesians 2:4)

And the list goes on and on.  The magnitude of God’s love is truly beyond our imagination, but we are called to love one another as Christ has loved us. Take up this challenge with me to see just how well we can love each other, because Christ first loved us.

MM: Turtle Jump

Some of you may not agree with me, but I feel like watching golf is boring. I truly feel like this next video helps prove my point.

A) That is one creepy looking turtle and B) apparently it's infinitely more interesting watching it than golf. And I'd agree. Regardless of if you like golf or not, have a great Monday everyone!

Reviews and Updates

I've been pretty busy lately, but I've definitely made time to read some of the free ebooks I've gotten lately. Instead of posting all the reviews here, I thought I'd direct you to my Amazon page so you could peruse them at your leisure.  I'll have a few more coming out in the next few days so make sure you check back then.

Update on what's been going on with me: I've been working on testing my chip and writing my thesis.  My circuit kind of works, and it's a little too hard to explain it all here, so if you want to go into all the nerdy details then let me know. I'm now trying to figure out how to make it work like it's supposed to (or at least closer).
I was in the house party of some good friends' wedding last weekend and I very much enjoyed being helpful. It definitely made me appreciate what all everyone did for my wedding. Thanks again everyone. And congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Points!
Hero got fixed today and he's pretty mopey and whiny which is to be expected after what he went through. That didn't stop him from trying to chase a rabbit earlier though. He and I are chillin' at home right now and I'm trying to keep him from pulling out his stitches. Hopefully we don't have to resort to the "cone."
I did buy a good deal for Fandango today on LivingSocial so hopefully Lee and I will go see a movie for date night tomorrow night. I'm thinking either Kung Fu Panda 2 or the new X-Men. What do you think?

One of the links is a referral link. Just so you know.

MM: Bubbles Are Funny...Apparently

This video cracks me up.  Every time the baby laughs I have to laugh.  Oh, and we tried this at home with Hero and some bubbles from my good friends' Holly and Josh's wedding (with no laughing baby of course).  Hero just ran from the bubbles.  Maybe one day he won't be such a scaredy-cat.  Enjoy!
